An Alternative hotel try Budget Inn, if you want something nicer try Days Inn Lexington, 1620 Cotton Grove Rd, Lexington, NC 27292 | 336-357-2333 | $65 per night Queens and we used this hotel in 2012.  Be sure you mention booking on-line for $64 (Orbitz, Priceline.com, Hotwire.com) but you want to deal directly with front desk receptionist and get the best price.  I talked to "Demetra" who quoted me $73.45 including tax per night for queens. Their price for the same room is $70 with tax $80 for normal walk-in business without dickering on the phone. NC Hotel Tax is 13%.  Both Days Inn and Quality Inn offers their same amenities: Hot Breakfast, Wi Fi, Pool, microwave, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, etc.  It is still hard to beat the Budget Inn deal as $50.00 per night for queens with tax included! 

Quality Inn,101PlazaPkwy, Lexington, NC 27292 | 336-243-2929 | $86 per night Queens. Basically I did the same thing and got this quote using "Veteran designation" on my drivers license. $73.09 + tax $82.60

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lexington - The Vineyard, 351 Vineyard Crossing, Lexington, NC 27295 | 336-224-6730 | $116 per night Queens including buffet breakfast. We also use this hotel in 2011.  They quoted special rate of $99 +13% =   $111.87 x2= $223.74  confirmation # 66814737

Randy's Restaurant - 3129 US 64, Lexington, NC 27292 map (336-249-6714) On your way into Lexington from Greensboro, at I-85 overpass intersection where you get onto East Hwy 64. Great home cooking: breakfast, lunch, and bbq pork sandwich.

Lexington Barbeque - 100 Smokehouse Lane, Lexington, NC 27295 map | 336-249-9814  (Close to Budget Inn were Bus I-85/70 curves left before making right onto Murphy)

Speedy's BBQ - 1317 Winston Rd, Lexington, NC 27295 map | 336-248-2092 (going W on I-85/70 like toward Budget Inn, but get off at McDonald's (Winston Rd) also Smiley's BBQ,  917 Winston Rd. also good BBQ), Biscuitville -918 Winston Rd (336-243-2812)  You also have McDonald's,812 Winston Rd (Norlex Shopping Ctr) 5:00AM-11:00PM and Hardee's - 521 Salem St (336-243-1091) 5:30AM-11:00PM just across Bus I-85/70 from McDonald's.
